Tropic Helicopters Zanzibar is the latest step in a story that started in Kenya in 1990, when Tropic Air began flying across East Africa and deeper into the continent. Built in the spirit of the early aviation pioneers, we have spent decades operating wider, more remotely, and more consistently than most, using high performance aircraft and an operating culture shaped by high professionalism, attention to detail, safety-oriented and a desire to offer top-tier travel experiences to our guests.  

In 2006, building on Tropic Air’s established success, Tropic Helicopters launched and went on to pioneer helicopter safaris across sub Saharan Africa, earning a reputation for professional crews, disciplined standards, and a calm, capable approach to complex flying. Our operations have connected guests and teams across regions including Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo, and even as far as Chad and Madagascar.

That same foundation now lives on in Zanzibar. Our new island operation brings our experience and high standards to helicopter transfers, scenic flights, and coastal connections across Zanzibar and Pemba, giving guests a faster, smoother way to move between resorts, islands, and key gateways. It is the same company, the same thinking, now based by pristine white sandy beaches.
